Many countries Northshore supports eat beans and rice for many, if not all, meals each day. So as a church, we took a challenge to sacrifice eating out, extra entertainment, and epic Costco runs to instead eat beans and rice for one week. We did this to come a little closer in understanding what many of our brothers and sisters live on each day, as well as to raise money to support churches, causes, and movements to three Northshore-supported regions: Haiti, Philippines, and Nicaragua. The savings found in replacing eating out and extra entertainment with eating beans & rice and watching a movie at home for one week, would then be pooled together and donated to those causes. The result? One incredible response.
Watch the results of your tremendous generosity. When a church comes together for a Christ-driven cause, extraordinary things happen.

On January 26, 2004 my husband George was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme grade 4—the nastiest of brain tumors. After surgery, chemo, and radiation, the prognosis wasn’t good. In fact, just 6 months and 2 days after the diagnosis, George passed away. Half way through those 6 months my mother-in-law, who I was very close to,… Continue reading →
