1. Read the Bible’s description of Job’s character in Job 1:1. What words would you like to be used to describe your character?
2. Share with your group a time you felt life was going smoothly, but then you were blindsided by difficulty. How did you handle that time? What did you learn?
3. Read 1 Peter 4:12-13. Peter suggests that suffering in our lives is a question of “when” not “if”. What can you do in easier times to prepare for seasons of suffering?
4. What answer do you give to those who ask, “Why does a loving God allow suffering in the world?"
5. Read Job 2:11-13. Do you know anyone dealing with difficult times? How can you be a comfort or support to them?
