Small Group Questions- Week 8

1. Why do you think most people are so uncomfortable with having conversations related to finances and money management?

2. Have someone read Proverbs 19:17. Most people have experienced the blessing of both giving and receiving at some point in their lives. Share an experience when you were blessed by someone else’s generosity.

3. Proverbs 22:7 compares indebtedness to slavery. How is being in debt similar to being enslaved? If you have dealt (or are dealing) with the issue of debt in your financial life, how has it impacted you spiritually?

4. Have someone read Proverbs 23:4-5. What are some ways people in our world “weary themselves” to get rich? Are there any ways you have fallen into this pattern? How can your group help you with this?

5. Have someone read Proverbs 8:10-11. How would our lives and priorities change if we valued wisdom more than wealth?

6. Based on Jonathan’s message this weekend and this conversation, what specific step will you take to better apply God’s wisdom in your financial life? How can the group encourage and pray for you toward this goal?
